PURCE webinar to focus on how trade policy can help reduce carbon emissions

A Purdue University Research Center in Economics (PURCE) webinar on April 29 will focus on how trade policy can reduce carbon emissions.

Existing international climate agreements have failed to deliver a meaningful success in combating climate change. Seeking to find a solution, policymakers and experts have advocated for the type of policies that combine carbon taxes with international trade policy.

Farid Farrokhi, assistant professor of economics at Purdue, will discuss trade policy and carbon emissions. Kevin Mumford, the Kozuch Director of PURCE and associate professor of economics, will host the live webinar and moderate a Q&A following Farrokhi’s presentation.

Farrokhi’s research focuses on international trade and economic geography.

The webinar, one in a monthly series, will be held at 11-11:45 a.m. ET, and registration is available online. A Zoom link will be provided in the registration confirmation email.
