IDSI to host Virtual Coffee Klatch on building data science teams to meet the health science challenge

Purdue’s Integrative Data Science Initiative (IDSI) is hosting a Virtual Coffee Klatch on Friday (March 12). The virtual meeting is the second in a three-part series. IDSI will host panelists to discuss “Building Data Science Teams to Meet the Health Science Challenge.”

Opening remarks will be provided by the following panelists, with general discussion and breakout sessions to follow:

  • Eneida A. Mendonca, vice president for research development, Regenstrief Institute Inc.; interim director, Center for Biomedical Informatics, Regenstrief Institute Inc.; professor of pediatrics, Indiana University School of Medicine; professor of Biostatistics, Indiana University School of Medicine.
  • Jing Su, assistant professor; director of data management services, Department of Biostatistics, Indiana University School of Medicine.
  • Kosali Simon, Herman Wells Professor; associate vice provost for health sciences, Indiana University Bloomington; affiliated scientist, Regenstrief Institute.
  • Michael Heinz, professor of speech, language, and hearing sciences; professor of biomedical engineering; co-director of Interdisciplinary Training Program in Auditory Neuroscience (TPAN), Purdue University.
  • Toyya Pujol, assistant professor in industrial engineering, Purdue University; core faculty at Regenstrief Center for Healthcare Engineering (RCHE).
  • Mohammad Rahman, associate professor of management, Purdue University.

The meeting will be held at 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. via Zoom. Participants can register up to Wednesday (March 10).
