Remove bicycles by Nov. 30 to avoid abandoned property process

Beginning the week of Nov. 30, Parking and Transportation Services will conduct a safety audit of all bicycle racks and hoops across the West Lafayette campus. Bicycles that appear to be abandoned or in disrepair and bicycles that are not properly parked at a rack or hoop will be tagged. The tagged bicycles will then be removed after 14 days.

Students leaving for the upcoming break and returning in January should take their bicycle home or secure it to a bike rack with a U-type lock. Students should also register their bike through the 529 Garage app. Students who are graduating should be sure to take their bike with them.

As always, officers in the Purdue University Police Department will be patrolling during the break and be on the lookout for criminal activity. It is still recommended that owners remove their bicycles from campus while away.

Questions may be directed to Aaron Madrid, alternative transportation coordinator, at madrida@purdue.edu.
