Meditation, breathing exercises available weekly in October

As part of the Healthy Boiler Program’s workshop offerings, Lindsay Bloom, health coach at Purdue Fort Wayne, is leading three 10-minute guided meditation and breathing exercises this month. The schedule is below:

  • Oct. 14 (W) -- 2:05 to 2:15 p.m. Join the meeting here. Meeting ID number: 120 305 1977
  • Oct. 23 (F) -- 12:05 to 12:15 p.m. Join the meeting here. Meeting ID number: 120 688 4920
  • Oct. 26 (M) -- 11:05 to 11:15 a.m. Join the meeting here. Meeting ID number: 120 081 0009

Employees can attend as many sessions as they would like.

“Practicing deep breathing and meditation, even for just a few minutes a day, can have both physical and emotional benefits,” Bloom says. “Stressful day-to-day events can add up, affecting our immune system, contributing to chronic disease and causing anxiety and depression. Learning to calm both the body and mind can help us manage our stress and take control of our health!”

Healthy Boiler workshops are free to all benefits-eligible faculty and staff and dependents covered on a Purdue medical plan.
