Section of Third Street to close to pedestrian traffic on Wednesday

A section of the pedestrian-friendly corridor along Third Street between North Russell Street and Waldron Street will close on Wednesday (Sept. 9) to facilitate utility work. The closure will last all day Wednesday, and work could potentially carry over to Thursday (Sept. 10).

Additionally, installation of more Purdue-themed graphics will start Tuesday (Sept. 8) near North Martin Jischke Drive. The installation is expected to last two weeks as work moves east along Third Street. Intermittent restrictions are expected along the Third Street walkway and bicycle path, but sidewalks will remain open.

Pedestrians and bicyclists should use caution in the area and obey posted signs and detours.
