Purdue Integrative Data Science Initiative to host Virtual Coffee Klatch

The Purdue Integrative Data Science Initiative (IDSI) is hosting a Virtual Coffee Klatch on Thursday (May 7).  The virtual meeting is second in the series on Data Science and COVID-19 pandemic modeling research at Purdue. Discussions will consider capabilities for detection and tracing of COVID-19 cases and explore opportunities for modeling epidemiological data sets.

Opening remarks will be provided by the following panelists, with general discussion to follow:

• Tamara Kinzer-Ursem, the Marta E. Gross Associate Professor of Biomedical Engineering.
• Mohammad Adibuzzaman, research scientist, Regenstrief Center for Healthcare Engineering.
• Nan Kong, associate professor, Weldon School of Biomedical Engineering.

The meeting will be held 11 a.m.-noon at this WebEx link. Participants do not need to register.

Our goal is to help our research communities come together to explore immediate and emerging opportunities, and support their efforts to rapidly develop and deliver the technological solutions that society needs during this crisis,” says Catherine Hill, associate director of the Integrative Data Science Initiative. “One challenge central to researchers in data science fields that we hope to help address through this forum is around data sourcing.”
