Purdue custodial staff increase disinfecting activities in campus buildings, residence halls

Throughout campus, in addition to their normal operations, Purdue custodial staff have increased disinfecting activities in all campus buildings they serve. Special attention is being given to bathrooms, frequently touched surfaces and common areas.

University Residences service staff is operating with elevated cleaning frequencies and using disinfectants instead of general purpose sanitizers. Cleaning frequencies have been increased on high-touch areas such as door handles, push bars and elevator buttons. UR also has added frequent cleaning of moving cart handles/grips throughout the move-out process.

“I want to especially thank the custodial staff in University Residences and those in Administrative Operations who have worked tirelessly to keep our buildings and shared spaces clean and safe during these demanding and unpredictable times,” said Jay Akridge, provost and executive vice president for academic affairs and diversity. “Their efforts exemplify the spirit and commitment that we are seeing throughout our campus community as we navigate these uncharted waters.”
