Purdue Autism Research Conference inviting poster abstracts, registration

The Purdue Autism Research Center will be hosting the second annual Purdue Autism Research Conference on April 24 in Stewart Center.

The conference is open to researchers, students and community members from Purdue and beyond. The conference will include a series of keynote and symposia sessions by researchers in diverse fields related to autism, ranging from basic to applied sciences. Featured keynote speakers will be Helen Tager-Flusberg, an expert in language and social-cognitive development in autism and the director of the Autism Center for Excellence at Boston University, and Karen Pierce, an expert in early screening and detection of autism and co-director of the Autism Center of Excellence at the University of California, San Diego.

A call for poster presentations is ongoing. Posters will be presented during a reception from 5 to 7 p.m. Cash prizes will be awarded to the top three posters ($200, $100, $50).

Abstracts should be no more than 500 words and include the following sections: Introduction, Objectives, Methods, Results, and Discussion. References, authors, and title are not included in the word count. In addition to the abstract, submitters must provide names, affiliations and email addresses of all co-authors.

Abstracts must be uploaded online by 11:59 p.m. Feb. 14. Accepted presenters will be notified by March 2. For questions regarding poster submissions, contact Mandy Rispoli at mrispoli@purdue.edu.

Conference registration is $20 for students and $40 for all other attendees, and registration is available online.
