CILMAR extending applications deadline to April 1 for seed grant program, Growing Intercultural Leaders Program

CILMAR Seed Grant Program/strong>

The CILMAR Seed Grant Program supports faculty, staff and doctoral students who wish to engage in the assessment of intercultural learning outcomes, conduct studies of intercultural competency development and/or generate new intercultural theoretical development but lack the resources to do so. Applicants may request seed grants from $500 to $5,000 and are encouraged to seek commitments for matching funds from their unit leadership. Seed grants are not meant to cover or reduce the cost of study abroad travel, although travel for other purposes (such as data collection, data analysis, or conference presentations) may be allowable.

More information about the program and applying is available here. The application is available here.

For more information about the seed grant program, contact Lan Jin, CILMAR intercultural research specialist, at lanjin@purdue.edu.

Growing Intercultural Leaders Program

This professional development opportunity asks faculty or staff to set personal goals for their own intercultural development and professional goals that will help them nurture intercultural growth in students or in others they teach, mentor, and/or advise.

The program can be entered at one of three levels, each of which calls for a commitment of one year and comes with a different set of expectations and funding. All participants are supported by meetings with a mentor and other learning opportunities.

More details about the GIL program can be found here. The application can be found here.
