Workshop to cover conversations about end of life care

Human Resources will host a family-friendly workshop on end of life care from noon to 1 p.m. Oct. 23 in Stewart Center, Room 218C.

“End of Life Care” is designed to help attendees build confidence in beginning or continuing conversations about end of life wishes, whether about their own wishes or with a loved one they are helping care for.

End of life conversations can be very difficult and uncomfortable, and often people do not know where to start. Families often wait until the last minute to have these conversations -- or never have them. This can lead to traumatic and stressful decision making for a loved one, without knowing what their wishes are. This workshop will be presented by Jiayun Xu, assistant professor of nursing at Purdue, and Nadine Cline, inpatient palliative care nurse practitioner at IU Health Arnett.

Registration, which is available online, is due Oct. 22. Log in and select "Wellness Events." Limited seats are available.
