Purdue Farmers Market to return today
The Purdue Farmers Market will return at the north end of Memorial Mall along Oval Drive today (May 9).
The market will be open from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. each Thursday through Aug. 1. Hours will extend from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. from Aug. 8 through Oct. 31. The market will continue as scheduled in the event of rain, but it will be canceled in the event of severe weather. Schedule changes will be communicated through the Life@Purdue Twitter account.
The Purdue Farmers Market is organized by Purdue Campus Master Planning and Sustainability in conjunction with Greater Lafayette Commerce. It hosts approximately 20 vendors who provide a variety of local fresh produce, herbs, plants and flowers, meats and prepared food, including lunches and sweets.
“The farmers market at Purdue has grown over time and become something the campus community and surrounding area really enjoys,” says Michael Gulich, director of Campus Master Planning and Sustainability. “We look forward to seeing continued support of these local vendors throughout the upcoming season.”
Guests and individuals without a parking permit may pay to park in the Grant Street Parking Garage. Those with an “A” permit may park in the Grant Street Parking Garage or the lots between Marsteller and Sheetz streets. These locations allow access to the market within a five-minute walk.
