Purdue seeking feedback for teaching and learning initiative

What should Purdue’s undergraduate program look like in 2030? And what should we do now to ensure that our undergraduate students continue to experience a high-quality education? The University in spring 2018 launched a Teaching and Learning Excellence Initiative aimed at establishing a framework to consider these questions and now continues that work with forums for faculty, staff and students.

“Creating a road map for the future of undergraduate education at Purdue has been, and continues to be, a collaborative process,” says Frank Dooley, senior vice provost for teaching and learning. “It began as a conversation between the Provost’s Office and members of the Teaching Academy and associate deans for undergraduate education in December 2017. We followed that up with nine listening sessions with faculty, staff and students from across campus and panel discussions with the 150th Anniversary Professors."

Now faculty, staff and students are invited to share their ideas about the future of the undergraduate program at Purdue at one of two forums hosted by Jay Akridge, provost and executive vice president for academic affairs and diversity.

The sessions are:

  • March 29 (F) – 11 a.m.- noon, Wilmeth Active Learning Center, Room B058.
  • April 1 (M) -- 2:30-3:30 p.m., Wilmeth Active Learning Center, Room B058.

The Teaching and Learning Excellence Initiative document and results from the listening sessions can be reviewed online.
