Center for Healthy Living workshop to help put wellness at the center of 2019

The new year is moving right along, and for some, now it is time to plan for a 2019 filled with improved health and wellness. The Center for Healthy Living on Purdue’s West Lafayette campus is hosting a “Create Your 2019 Wellness Vision” workshop in order to help those interested in making wellness a priority in 2019 do so.

The workshop will take place from 12:10 to 12:50 p.m. Jan. 30 in the Córdova Recreational Sports Center's Wellness Conference Room. Interested individuals should register by Jan. 29 via the Healthy Boiler Portal. A registration link can be found under “Wellness Events” on the portal’s homepage.

Led by Cheryl Laszynski, registered nurse health coach at CHL, the program will teach participants how to create their own, unique wellness plan complete with doable steps they can follow.

“It’s sometimes difficult to try and set obtainable goals as resolutions for the new year while also trying to finalize end-of-year tasks, shopping and handling whatever other things pop up along the way,” Laszynski says. “Our hope is that this workshop will help those in attendance be able to take a fresh look at what they want to achieve in regards to their health and wellness throughout the rest of the year, and then create their own plan specific to what will work for them. We all have different needs and diverse sets of characteristics that define how we achieve and succeed in our goals. This session will provide an avenue for each participant do exactly that.”

Center for Healthy Living programs and workshops are free for benefits-eligible faculty and staff and for spouses covered on a Purdue medical plan. Adult dependents covered on a Purdue medical plan as well as benefits-eligible employees who have opted out of a Purdue medical plan also can attend free of charge. Any questions can be directed to 765-494-0111.
