Webinars to focus on Purdue NewU

Dear Faculty and Staff,

You are invited to a series of one-hour webinars, each focused on different aspects of our innovative new venture, Purdue NewU, which will expand access to higher education for working adults and others for whom traditional campus study is not accessible or attainable.

The webinars are intended to bring together faculty and staff from Purdue and Kaplan University to foster learning, share best practices, promote ongoing collaboration and support better understanding among our teams and campuses.

Each session will center on a particular topic about which subject matter experts from both Purdue and Kaplan University will share perspectives and approaches. The session then will broaden the conversation and invite question and answers. You may attend any or all sessions.

The first webinar will be 10-11 a.m. Sept. 7 and feature Frank Dooley, senior vice provost for teaching and learning at Purdue, and Betty Vandenbosch, Purdue NewU chancellor-elect and president of Kaplan University. It will focus on the mission, rationale and timeline for Purdue NewU.

Subsequent webinar sessions' topics include online learning, curriculum design, competency-based education and continuous improvement in teaching and learning.

Each webinar will be limited to the first 1,000 participants, and videos of each will be made available shortly after on the NewU website at http://purduenewu.org.
