Read to Succeed program welcoming Purdue volunteers

Purdue is proud to partner once again with the Read to Succeed program, a volunteer initiative of Greater Lafayette Commerce and the United Way. That means faculty, staff and students have the opportunity to give back to their community.

Read to Succeed contributes to local schools' efforts to boost reading skills and have students reading at grade level by grade three. Purdue faculty, staff and students wanting to volunteer can, at their supervisor’s discretion, donate an hour of time per week to the program.

Volunteers have reported that besides helping students build their reading skills, the experience of giving back to young people in their own community is rewarding.

Anyone interested in participating should contact Ashley Biesemeier, community impact associate at United Way of Greater Lafayette, at 765-742-9077 ext. 233.
