The inaugural class of GE's Women in Operations program, a collaboration between GE and Krannert Executive Education Programs, toured the GE Aviation facility in Lafayette on Thursday (April 21) as part of the weeklong program at the West Lafayette campus.
The GE Women in Operations program was designed in partnership between Krannert Executive Education Programs and GE's Women's Network, which focuses on creating training opportunities for the more than 100,000 women across the company, ensuring that the company is hiring, retaining and promoting women.
The Women in Operations participants were selected by GE from a variety of its divisions across the United States and Canada, and work in areas such as manufacturing, sourcing, materials, quality, and environmental, health and safety management. Twenty-seven students are enrolled in the current program, which lasts through today (April 22).
The program includes custom-designed classes taught by Krannert faculty, a visit to Purdue Foundry, special networking events, and a tour of campus.
