'Love Liberal Arts' to be focus next week

From dragons to doughnuts, the week of Feb. 8-12 will celebrate the theme "Love Liberal Arts" at Purdue West Lafayette with past, current and potential students.

The College of Liberal Arts invites everyone on campus to share the fun as CLA asks why people love the liberal arts, gives away goodies and launches an Instagram account.

Events begin Monday (Feb. 8), the Chinese New Year's Day, with fortune cookies and a dragon roaming the campus as of 1:30 p.m. The CLA social media platforms will be part of the lovefest, and the new Instagram account will have challenges to win prizes including men's basketball tickets for Tuesday (Feb. 9).

Tuesday has hot chocolate and Wednesday has Doughnuts with the Dean. At 6 p.m. Thursday, an Alumni Advice Panel event will feature several young alumni. Friday brings the weekly LA Influentials class, and the speaker will be a 2011 alumna. Also Friday, high school students will experience a day with CLA people and classes.

The Instagram account will be @purdueliberalarts, and the week will use the hashtag #LoveLiberalArts. On the Web, https://cla.purdue.edu/lovelibarts has event details. All events are free.
