United Way advocates available for presentations

August 25, 2015

Groups at Purdue are encouraged to request a presentation from one of the University's United Way advocates to learn more about the mission and impact of United Way as Purdue prepares to launch its annual United Way campaign on Sept. 10.

The advocates' presentations describe and give examples of the local efforts of the 22 United Way participating organizations and other affiliated programs. During the presentations, the advocates also will answer questions about United Way and the ongoing campaign. Advocates can be invited to present at a faculty and/or staff meeting.

To schedule a presentation, contact Becky Hershey, Purdue United Way director, at 765-494-9240 or bhershey@purdue.edu.

The Purdue United Way Campaign's theme this year is "Windows of Opportunity." Purdue's campaign will kick off on Sept. 10 and will last until Nov. 10. The Purdue campaign's goal is $760,000, which is 15 percent of the United Way of Greater Lafayette's anticipated goal of $5 million. Julie Griffith, vice president for public affairs, is chair of Purdue's 2015 United Way campaign, and Pam Horne, vice provost for enrollment management, is the vice chair.
