Employee Self Service (ESS) leave tool upgrade effective today

April 6, 2015

The Employee Self Service (ESS) leave tool currently used by some exempt employees at all campuses has been upgraded, effective today (April 6). The upgrade simplifies leave requests and approvals and offers enhanced reporting for exempt employees and supervisors. Current users will notice updated screens and functionality. The changes are intuitive and can be utilized with little to no training.

The online ESS leave tool is available for use by all exempt staff, including academic year (AY) faculty. The tool is now more user-friendly and can be used by AY faculty for recording sick leave and personal business days during their regularly scheduled work times. Non-exempt employees will continue to report time as they do today with no change.

Showcases to demonstrate the tool and changes are available to employees, supervisors and business office staff who wish to attend. Showcases will take place:

* April 7 (T). 8:30-9:30 a.m. Lawson Computer Science Building, Room 1142.
* April 15 (W). 9-10 a.m. Hicks Undergraduate Library, Room B853.

Register online for any of the showcases.

Departments that are interested in a demonstration of the automated tool or have specific questions about the upgrade should contact Tammy Synesael at 49-41691 or tammy@purdue.edu. Employees who need assistance with the tool can also contact Synesael.
