Marketing and Media earns service industry ad awards

Purdue's Office of Marketing and Media claimed eight awards in the 10th annual Service Industry Advertising Awards.

The awards program is a national contest that recognizes the creative and communications achievements of the service industry in 2012. The contest allows service agencies, such as education corporations and energy providers to showcase their advertising efforts, without being dominated by consumer and packaged goods submissions. Purdue competed against other universities, advertising agencies, and other agencies such as banks and hospitals. Overall, Purdue earned three gold awards, two silver, one bronze, one merit and one Best in Show.

More than 2,000 submissions were entered in November 2012 and evaluated by a national panel of judges. Entries were judged on execution, creativity, quality, consumer appeal, and how well the advertisement captures an audience's attention. Entries fell into eight groups and 26 categories, and only nine submissions were named Best in Show.
