Implementation of the Campus Tree Care Plan continues
October 25, 2012
Purdue's West Lafayette campus is home to about 8,000 trees of more than 350 different varieties. The arborists in the Grounds Department use a carefully developed tree care plan to guide the management of trees on campus.
The campus tree care plan is implemented as appropriate throughout the year as trees are assessed, cared for, planted and removed. Each year, the Grounds Department ensures that more trees are planted than removed.
In the coming weeks, those on campus might see crews removing and planting trees as a part of this continuous improvement plan.
Questions about the tree care plan may be directed to the Grounds Department at 49-43087.
