Ticket donations sought to boost Military Appreciation Day

August 31, 2011

Purdue Athletics has designated the 2011 football home opener Saturday (Sept. 3) against Middle Tennessee State as the second annual Military Appreciation Day, and Boilermaker fans and businesses throughout the state are teaming up with Purdue Athletics to purchase tickets for military personnel and their family members.

This includes active duty, guard, and reserve personnel as well as all veterans. Those who wish to donate tickets as a show of support for military families can contact Purdue Group Sales at 49-49476.

Military personnel and family members who do not receive a donated ticket may purchase tickets to the game at the discounted rate of $20 per ticket (50 percent off a regular ticket price).

Purdue Athletics will have a special recognition announcement during the game in honor of U.S. military personnel. The Purdue "All-American" Marching Band will perform a special military tribute during halftime.

Purdue student veterans should contact Bryan Morris at morris55@purdue.edu for ticket information. Others should contact Alicia Spack of Purdue Athletics at 49-49476.
