Ananth V. Iyer, the Susan Bulkeley Butler Chair in Operations Management and associate dean of graduate studies at the Krannert School of Management, will be the faculty director of the new PurdueHUB-U initiative, acting President Timothy D. Sands has announced.

PurdueHUB-U will offer online interactive learning modules and courses prepared by Purdue faculty, utilizing the computing power and scalability of the Purdue HUBzero platform, which is designed to support complex interactive simulation and other computer-intensive learning methodologies. Initial topics will leverage the deep research strengths at Purdue and focus on emerging research areas.

The modular format will enable the use of PurdueHUB-U modules in regular Purdue courses and degree programs to enhance learning outcomes.

Enrollments by individual students and partnerships with global institutions will provide the student base for these courses. PurdueHUB-U will leverage Purdue's research and computing capabilities to serve as a global catalyst for education in interdisciplinary research areas.
