CSSAC elects vice chair, emeritus member

May 24, 2012

The Clerical and Service Staff Advisory Committee on May 8 elected Betty Kroll vice chair for 2012-13.

As vice chair, Kroll, who works in Libraries, will be chair of the Bridge Committee, be a member of the Communication and Membership committees and chair CSSAC meetings when the chair is not available. Kroll, who takes office in September, also will succeed the chair the following year. The current vice chair, Gary Carter, will be chair in 2012-13.

Also during CSSAC's May 8 meeting, current chair Ebony Barrett-Kennedy was elected an emeritus member for next year. Emeritus members are nonvoting and provide knowledge to newer members, assist with continuing or ongoing projects, and assist CSSAC in representation on University committees.

CSSAC members are eligible for an emeritus position upon completion of their regular CSSAC membership. Emeritus members serve a one-year term starting in September.

In other business, Adedayo Adeniyi, director of leadership and organizational development in the Office of the Vice President for Human Resources, reviewed the University’s new performance review system. He asked for the group’s assistance to inform all clerical and service employees, particularly those who have infrequent access to the Internet, about it.
