International service-learning programs focus of workshop

Three Community of Service-Learning Faculty Fellows (CSLFF) will introduce international service-learning programs that take place in Cameroon, Colombia and Romania at an upcoming workshop.

"Building International Service Learning Courses" will be held noon-1:30 p.m. Feb. 29 in Stewart Center, Room 318.

The presenters will discuss resources available for initiating such courses at Purdue and maintaining course sustainability. They also will discuss the importance of developing and fostering community partnerships, and the challenges unique to working in an international setting.

Presenters are Paul Ebner, assistant professor of animal sciences; John Lumkes, associate professor of agricultural and biological engineering; and Sandra Sydnor, assistant professor of hospitality and tourism management.

The workshop will provide opportunities for questions and will include a group discussion component. Registration is required.
