CIE workshop to highlight 'Weapons of Mass Instruction'

January 12, 2012

A Center for Instructional Excellence workshop will focus on how images, language and stories can be powerful tools in increasing students' understanding and retention of material.

"Weapons of Mass Instruction: Ways to Perk up Your Students and Make Sure They Remember the Material!" will be held 9-10:30 a.m. Jan. 19 in Stewart Center, Room 322. George Hollich, associate professor of psychological sciences, will lead the workshop.

According to Hollich, using adjectives in lectures can increase learning. In this exciting and thought-provoking workshop, he'll discuss how sensory and emotional energy in the classroom can help students understand and remember the material.
