Women's Resource Office merges into Butler Center

August 17, 2011

The Susan Bulkeley Butler Center for Leadership Excellence is pleased to announce that beginning Aug. 1, the Women's Resource Office has joined the Butler Center.

As part of the Butler Center, the WRO will adopt the new name of Women's Resource Network (WRN) and continue to provide resources and support services. The Butler Center will continue to provide leadership development programming, research support and collaborative opportunities. Katie Pope, who has headed WRO, is the managing director for the Butler Center.

The Butler Center and all of its programs, including the Pre-Tenure Conference for Women, Purdue Women Lead, and the Women's Resource Network, now can be found at a new Web address, www.purdue.edu/butler. This reorganization brings together the many hallmark programs of both the Butler Center and WRN under one organizational unit and provides an opportunity to expand programming and services to a broader audience.

"We're building on a solid foundation," says Beverly Davenport Sypher, vice provost for faculty affairs and the Susan Bulkeley Butler Chair for Leadership Excellence. "This reorganization provides a broader and more focused opportunity to accomplish our shared goals."
