Temporary alternate fueling arrangements set for University-owned vehicles

August 11, 2011

Purdue's Transportation Service facilities on Harrison Street will be fenced on Monday (Aug. 15) in preparation for demolition work for the relocation of U.S. 231 and the creation of a perimeter parkway around campus.

However, the new site for the self-service fuel pumps for University-owned vehicles is not expected to be operational on Monday. To ensure uninterrupted access to gasoline and diesel fuel during the relocation period, temporary, alternate arrangements for fueling University vehicles have been made.

All campus customers who currently use University fuel services at the Harrison Street facility are asked to contact Transportation Service by telephone at 49-42114 at their earliest possible convenience.  Customers who use on-road University-owned vehicles will be issued Voyager cards to purchase fuel at off-campus locations. Drivers who operate University-owned off-road service vehicles including heavy and specialized equipment may obtain fuel at the Transportation Shop Services facility which is located at the Airport Service Building (ASB). These alternate arrangements will continue until the new fueling facility near the intersection of South Russell Street and Ahlers Drive is completed and operational.

The Shop Services portion of the Transportation Service operation is now accessible at the Airport Service Building (ASB) at 1557 Aviation Drive. The car/van rental and charter bus services as well as the customer service/front office area are now available at the south end of the Physical Facilities Service Building (PFSB) at 775 Ahlers Drive.
