Transportation Service moving facilities, launching new combined website
The Harrison Street facility that currently houses Purdue's Transportation Service will be removed to accommodate the roadwork for two major highway construction projects, the relocation of U.S. 231 and the creation of a perimeter parkway around campus.
Transportation Service is being relocated to three new campus sites. A map of these new sites is available at https://www.purdue.edu/pat/graphics/transportation/moving/transportmap.pdf.
The Shop Services department is now accessible at the Airport Service Building (ASB) at 1557 Aviation Drive. Services at this location include maintenance and repair of University-owned vehicles, as well as the sale of oil and automotive supplies. Service hours are 7 a.m.-4 p.m., Monday-Friday. Effective Aug. 8, car/van rentals and the charter bus operation will be available at the south end of the Physical Facilities Service Building (PFSB) at 775 Ahlers Drive. Cars, trucks, vans, specialty, long-term and Indianapolis Airport one-way vehicles may be rented from this location. For vehicle rental service, call 49-42114 from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday-Friday and 7 to 11 a.m. Saturday. Charter bus service office hours are 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday and can be reached at 49-46550. Customer parking for car/van rentals and charter bus services will be available in the gravel parking lot just south of PFSB.
On Aug. 9, the customer service/front office area will be relocated to the 775 Ahlers Drive location, at the south end of PFSB, joining the car/van rental and charter bus operations. Hours of operation are 7 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday-Friday and 7-11 a.m. Saturday. The customer service/front office area may be reached by phone at 49-42114.
It is anticipated that during the week of Aug. 15, self-service fuel pumps with unleaded gasoline and diesel fuel will be accessible for University-owned vehicles near the intersection of South Russell Street and Ahlers Drive, just east of PFSB. In the future, a car wash for small trucks, vans, and automobiles also will be available at this location; it is currently under construction.
Physical Facilities has recently launched a new combined website merging three transportation entities: Transportation Service, Parking Services, and Purdue University Airport. This new combined website will serve as a hub of services for transportation customers.
The new website, which features more details about the relocation of Transportation Service operations, may be found at www.purdue.edu/PAT. If you had previously bookmarked the Transportation Service, Parking Services, or Purdue University Airport home pages, your bookmarks will continue to work. However, other favorite bookmarks to forms and frequently visited pages will need to be relinked.
