Reminder: Safety guidelines, conservation measures

The Purdue community is being asked to review safety guidelines for warm weather conditions as well as recommendations to assist in minimizing cooling demands.

Safety guidelines to keep in mind during extremely warm weather conditions are available in a PDF file at www.purdue.edu/physicalfacilities/pdf/osha_heatcard.pdf.

People can help to reduce cooling demand by taking the following curtailment steps:
* Shutting off lights in unoccupied areas.
* Turning off unnecessary/unused equipment and appliances such as computers and coffee pots.
* Lowering window shades on the sunny side of the building.
* Portable fans may be used for the comfort of building occupants where needed.
