Workshop to focus on case studies in service-learning

The 2010 Community of Service-Learning Faculty Fellows will present a workshop on case studies in service-learning on March 23.

"Case Studies in Service-Learning: How to Transform Challenges into Triumphs" will be held 9-10:30 a.m. in
Stewart Center, Room 310. Those new to service-learning and veterans are invited to attend.
 
Led by the 2010 Community of Service-Learning Faculty fellows, this interactive workshop will provide participants with real case scenarios in service-learning. Participants will discuss problem-solving strategies and determine how to deal with challenges that arise when using service-learning as a teaching and learning pedagogy. Participants also will receive feedback from experienced service-learning faculty on how those challenges can result in successful experiences for the students and the community partner.
 
The following topics will be explored in depth:
  
* Managing community partnerships.
* Working with your students.
* International service-learning.
