Purdue Saves Week begins today
WorkLife Programs is holding a series of noon-hour financial workshops this week for Purdue Saves Week. Purdue Saves Week is held in conjunction with America Saves Week, which provides guidance on the hows and whys of saving money.
WorkLife Programs is offering five presentations aimed at helping employees save for different situations, such as saving for college or investing.
* Monday: Purdue Saves on Taxes.
* Tuesday: Purdue Saves and Invests.
* Wednesday: Purdue Saves and Protects from Auto Fraud.
* Thursday: Purdue Saves for College.
* Friday: Purdue Saves at Work.
During Purdue Saves Week, information tables staffed by WorkLife Programs and the Division of Financial Aid will be available to students, faculty and staff from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the west lobby of Stewart Center. Representatives from Fidelity also will be on hand to answer questions and schedule individual financial counseling appointments for those interested.
Purdue Saves Week is part of a larger nationwide America Saves Week that includes local, regional and national organizations. America Saves is a 9-year-old effort to encourage Americans to begin saving or increase the amount they regularly save.
Those who participated in the Purdue Piggy Bank Challenge during Money Smart Week last fall may visit any PEFCU location from Feb. 21 to March 11 to roll their savings into a high-interest certificate of deposit (CD).
