P-12 Engagement Summit scheduled for March 1

February 10, 2011

Faculty and staff involved with campus outreach are invited to attend and submit posters for the P-12 Engagement Summit on March 1.

The event, sponsored by the College of Education in partnership with P-14 STEM Education at Discovery Park, will be held from 8:15 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Hall for Discovery and Learning Research, Room 131. Maryann Santos de Barona, dean of the College of Education, will provide the opening keynote.

The goals of the summit are to:

* Bring together campus engagement providers and programs to encourage and create linkages.
* Share information about the current state of K-12 engagement at Purdue.
* Explore key issues of concern for the group and to create ongoing dialogue.
* Create and develop informational outreach products that may be used across the campus. These efforts will include introducing a new P-12 web portal, developing a campus engagement booklet, and organizing an ongoing series of topical meetings.

Engagement providers and K-12 outreach programs are encouraged to submit a poster for the poster session. The deadline for submissions is Feb. 22.
