Upcoming class stresses importance of dental care, its effect on general health

February 8, 2011

WorkLife Programs is offering a course on dental care Wednesday (Feb. 9) as part of its 12-week program, “Transform Your Health Habits.” The class will be facilitated by local dentist Michael Laszynski.

"Preventive Dentistry" will be 12:10-12:50 p.m. in Stewart Center, Room 313.

Regular dental care is important, not only for appearance, but also for general health. Poor oral hygiene has been linked to dental and medical problems including gum disease, infection, bone loss, heart disease, strokes and more.

Laszynski will help participants prevent these problems and answer their questions on topics ranging from sensitive teeth to cosmetic dentistry. The class will kick off with 30 minutes of education and end with small group discussions so participants can brainstorm on the most feasible ways to fit these solutions into their lives.
