APSAC hears report on creation of employee award, Spring Fling

The Administrative and Professional Staff Advisory Committee held its monthly meeting on Nov. 10.
  
APSAC business included:
  
* A discussion about the creation of an award to recognize employee community service. Representatives from APSAC and the Clerical and Service Staff Advisory Committee have been meeting over the past several weeks to consider co-sponsoring an award for staff members who make significant contributions to the community outside the University. APSAC members voiced their support of the award and will continue to have Bob Morman and Ed Wiercioch serve on the ad hoc committee.

* Carrie Hanson of Human Resources reported that Spring Fling will be May 19. Activities will be held at Memorial Mall and Stewart Center due to expansion and renovation work at the Recreational Sports Center.

* The 2011 Richard A. Hadley Lecture will feature Teri Lucie Thompson, Purdue's vice president for marketing and media, at 10 a.m. Jan. 26 in Room 1142, Lawson Computer Science Building. The topic of the lecture will be announced closer to the event date.
