'Yoga on the Hill' to blend exercise, live jazz

September 14, 2010

The healthy fun of yoga, the sweet sounds of jazz and the event atmosphere of Slayter Hill, when combined, produce "Yoga on the Hill," a free event Thursday (Sept. 16).

The Division of Recreational Sports and the Purdue Jazz Band are offering this participatory event at 6-8 p.m. on the performance stage at Slayter Center. Yoga instructor Stacey Enneking from Rec Sports' Learn 2 Play program will teach yoga accompanied by the jazz band, which is an ensemble of Purdue Bands & Orchestras. Participants should bring their own yoga mat, beach towel or blanket along with bottled water.

The rain date is the following Thursday, Sept. 23, at the same hours and place. For questions for the instructor, contact Stacey Enneking at sennekin@purdue.edu. For questions about the Purdue Jazz Band, contact Mo Trout at mttrout@purdue.edu.
