Fall programming available from WorkLife Programs

August 23, 2010

Two new sessions of the Worklife Programs walking program are beginning soon. Participants can sign up to walk during the noon hour on Tuesdays or Wednesdays, beginning Aug. 31 and Sept. 1, respectively.

The 12-week walking program features a 30-minute walk, with a stretching session afterward, in a group format designed to offer support and motivation. For a total body workout, Leki walking poles are available in limited quantities.

The Tuesday session meets at Lynn Hall, near the Continuum Sculpture, and the Wednesday session leaves from Hovde Hall. Participants register for just one session, but are welcome to attend any session -- or both of them -- during the week.

Also coming up in the next two weeks:

Adult Children – Aging Parents
Thursdays, Sept. 2, 16, and 30
11 a.m.-1 p.m., Purdue West Building F (PWF), 1402 W. State St.
Parents will always be parents, and children -- even when they are old enough to retire -- are still sons and daughters. In this three-part series, learn how to talk about and plan for changing needs in later life, as well as how to strengthen relationships between the generations.
