CSSAC elects vice chair

May 20, 2010

Ebony Barrett-Kennedy will be the next vice chair of the Clerical and Service Staff Advisory Committee.

She was elected to the position at CSSAC’s May 11 meeting.

She will take office in September and succeed the current vice chair, Deborah Luedtke. Luedtke will become chair at that time. Matthew Marks is the current chair of CSSAC.

In other business, three current CSSAC members were nominated to serve as emeritus members next year.
The three are Marks, Alan Farrester and Jaylene Nichols.

Emeritus members are non-voting and provide knowledge to newer members, assist with continuing or ongoing projects, and assist CSSAC in representation on University committees. They serve a one-year term, which starts in September. Cynthia Dalton has served as an emeritus member this year.

The group will vote on emeritus members at its June meeting at the Indiana University-Purdue University at Fort Wayne campus.

Also on May 11:

* Marks said the membership subcommittee has received eight applications for CSSAC membership for next year. The group will have 10 open seats.

* Farrester said the Purdue Employees Activity Program has finalized plans for a Chicago Cubs baseball trip on Saturday, Aug. 21. The Cubs will play the Atlanta Braves. For more information and a reservation form, go to www.purdue.edu/cssac/Employee_Trips/.
