IT units jointly offering Windows 7 course

Signal Learning will present two customized Windows 7 training courses in April and May through a contract with the College of Liberal Arts IT, Krannert Computing Center, Student Services Technology and Assessment, and Business Services Computing. The courses, designed for IT staff, are composed of specific modules from Microsoft training curriculum (courses 50311A and 50331A). 

The trainer for these courses will be Ken Alexander, who has taught other courses at Purdue and received positive reviews from the Purdue IT community. Each course is being offered twice with a maximum size of 19 persons for each section. All four sections will run 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. on the stated days in Room 753, Krannert Building.

"Helpdesk" course: This course is geared toward staff who handle helpdesk calls and troubleshoot end user issues. For an overview of content, see PDF file. Sections:
 
* April 20-21 (Tu-W) -- Register by April 6.
* May 10-11 (M-Tu) -- Register by April 26.
 
"Technical" course: This course is geared toward the persons responsible for technical decisions and implementation of applications, security and laptop development. For an overview of content, see PDF file. Sections:
 
* April 22-23 (Th-F) -- Register by April 6.
* May 12-13 (W-Th) -- Register by April 26.

Pricing for each course includes books for both courses 50311A and 50331A. Each two-day course costs $665. Registration for one session of both courses (four days) is $965. There may be a slight price drop based on volume of seats filled. Payment can be made with a Purdue credit card.
