Update: Traffic, parking disruptions

February 22, 2010

Here are notes on some current and upcoming disruptions on the West Lafayette campus.

Weather conditions play a significant role in progress on some projects.

-- Stadium Avenue will be closed Wednesday and Thursday (Feb. 24-25) from David Ross Road to Martin Jischke Drive for repair of a chilled water line. The service drive between Lambert Field and the Rankin Track and Field will be closed. The Recreational Sports Center parking lots will remain open with access from Martin Jischke Drive. -- An area northwest of the Psychological Sciences Building near the bicycle racks will be closed for a number of days. This is part of a weeks-long project in which staff are removing abandoned water lines in the steam tunnels that run underneath campus sidewalks. Areas of campus will be blocked by fence while crews use a small crane to discard the debris into a dump truck or dumpster. Map: www.purdue.edu/physicalfacilities/travel/pdf/PSYC_n_sidewalk.pdf. For questions or concerns, contact Jack Johnson at 49-44889.

-- On the east side of the Meredith Hall parking lot, parking spaces were to be closed today (Feb. 22) until April 30 due to tunnel work for Hanley Hall construction. Foot traffic patterns also will be altered. Map: www.purdue.edu/physicalfacilities/travel/pdf/Hanley_Hall.pdf. For questions or concerns, contact Joe Zachary at 479-0126 or jbzachary@purdue.edu.
