This week’s ‘Thumbs Up’ recipients
Bryan Price
I am pleased to recognize Bryan (Institutional Data Analytics + Assessment) for his exceptional support during this year’s National Assessment Week (NAW). As our regional representative, Bryan’s work is deeply rooted in continuous improvement, student learning outcomes and accreditation — expertise that he brings forward with enthusiasm and a genuine commitment to strengthening our assessment culture. This year, Bryan played a pivotal role in standing up sessions for NAW, ensuring that each was well‑supported, thoughtfully organized and aligned with the needs of our assessment community. Throughout the week, Bryan remained actively engaged — attending sessions, connecting with our team, and making sure we had the support we needed before and during each event. His coordination extended beyond the live sessions as well. Bryan oversaw the dissemination of session‑specific surveys and ensured that recordings and resources were made available afterward. Bryan’s dedication elevated the quality and reach of NAW. His contributions not only strengthened the event itself but also helped foster a more connected and informed assessment community. — Margaret Ascolani (Institutional Data Analytics + Assessment)
Purdue Musical Organizations external relations team
I’d like to give a shoutout to the PMO external relations team for their recent and amazing accomplishments! Christopher Wolford, marketing and communications manager, made a suggestion that has helped units easily customize their Purdue Day of Giving graphics. This has been on our wish list for several years; thanks for helping make it happen, Chris! Thank you to Lizzy Lewis, scheduling and events coordinator, for suggesting that Visit Lafayette-West Lafayette create a new Purdue Arts webpage to highlight community offerings, which is now available here. If your department is not included, request to be added at info@HomeofPurdue.com. And congratulations to Kris Webster, lead administrative assistant and building deputy, who was awarded Student Life’s Inspiring Leaps Award. She is extremely deserving of this honor, which recognizes her support for our staff and our student activities over the past nine years, from costumes and auditions to professional development, wellness and philanthropy programs. I’m grateful to work with this team every day! — Amanda Dunkle (Purdue Musical Organizations)
Those who helped repair Hillenbrand Dining Court’s air conditioning
Hillenbrand Dining Court was feeling the heat when temperatures soared at the end of March. We experienced an issue with our air conditioning, making it extremely hot in the kitchen and serving stations. Dan Kitchen (Dining & Culinary) quickly connected us to the right people for support. Ian Anderson and Chris Phillips (both Operations and Maintenance) sourced portable AC units to cool us down. Stephen Burton (Residential Housing Operations) coordinated the delivery and installation of the AC units. Steve Clingenpeel (Operations and Maintenance) and Trevor Blackwood (Residential Housing Operations) were on-site to ensure everything stayed running smoothly. Thank you all for helping us beat the heat! — Eric Coates (Hillenbrand Dining)
Trina Clawson and Jayme Baker
A sincere thank-you to Trina and Jayme (both Procurement Services) for their strong partnership and support of Human Resources on the Spring Fling sponsorships. Trina has been especially instrumental in leading the majority of the vendor outreach. We truly appreciate the collaboration and coordination! — Amy Boyle (Human Resources)
Megan Mickle and Abby Holt
Megan and Abby (both College of Science) have been so welcoming and helpful since I started in the College of Science. I would like to recognize and thank them for assisting me with recognizing National Student Employment Week. — Abby Eberly (College of Science)
Kim Jamriska
Kim (Recreation & Wellness) and her crew at the CoRec are fantastic at helping coordinate and host events. During our IE 431 senior capstone course poster session, she and her team ensured that we had everything that we needed and checked on us several times throughout the course of the event from noon to 5 p.m. We were able to host 36 teams, 179 enrolled students, and a couple hundred of our corporate partners and guests without a hitch. Thank you again to Kim and all the folks at the CoRec who help us every semester! — Craig Zehrung (Industrial Engineering)
Brenda Coulson
Thank you so much to Brenda (Talent Acquisition) for being the speaker at this year’s Richard A. Hadley Professional Development Series presentation. It was a very informative and engaging presentation! I learned a lot of valuable information that I plan to use in the future. Thank you for your time and for always being so kind! — Katie May (Public Health)
Advisors and administrative professionals
Thank you to all the advisors and administrative professionals across campus! I hope you have a wonderful time celebrating National Advisor Appreciation Day on Tuesday (April 21) and Administrative Professionals Day on Wednesday (April 22). — Katie May (Public Health)
