Purdue Books Initiative continues monthly publishing webinars for authors

The Purdue University Books Initiative continues its monthly webinar series featuring global publishing houses. Faculty and staff are invited to attend the next webinar at 11 a.m. Jan. 16. This month’s session will feature publishers from Oxford University Press (OUP).

OUP is the world’s largest university press and has been in business for over 500 years. It is a not-for-profit department of Oxford University and is a mission-based organization committed to furthering the University of Oxford’s objective of excellence in research, scholarship and education by publishing worldwide.

Dan Taber-Hewett is the senior acquisitions editor for mathematics, statistics and computer science books. He has worked at OUP since 2010 and has experience in various areas of publishing. Taber-Hewett commissions monographs, graduate and undergraduate textbooks, and trade books, and will be talking about the OUP reviews and approval process for all academic subject areas.

All webinars are accessible through this Teams link or by logging in to the Purdue Books Initiative website. Event recordings are also posted on the site.

The webinar series is designed to help new and prospective authors connect with publishing houses and bring their projects from concept to ISBN in record time.

For information about the initiative, authors can visit the Purdue Books Initiative website or contact Cristina Farmus, vice president for special projects.
