MaPSAC’s Lovell Leadership Lecture Series to present Mitch Isaacs

Mitch Isaacs, executive director of the Shafer Leadership Academy, located in Muncie, Indiana, will provide leadership insights Oct. 10 as part of the annual fall Lovell Leadership Lecture Series, presented by the Management and Professional Staff Advisory Committee.
The event will take place virtually from 2-3 p.m. ET. Registration is required, and registrants will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting. All university staff are welcome to attend with supervisor approval, and the event will be moderated to minimize interruptions.
The Lovell Leadership Lecture Series was established in 2010 by the late C.W. “Bill” Lovell, professor of civil engineering for 45 years, who, after retiring in 1993, took an active role as a Franklin Covey facilitator in Human Resources and promoted learning of leadership skills among Purdue staff members.
As executive director, Isaacs works closely with the Shafer Leadership Academy’s board of directors to fulfill the mission of the organization by providing inclusive leadership development to help people, organizations and communities reach their full potential.
Isaacs has over 20 years of leadership development experience. He graduated from Ball State University in 2002 with a double major in history and political science and a minor in counseling psychology. He completed his master’s degree in student affairs and higher education at Indiana State University and then returned Ball State in 2005, where he spent the next 10 years as a working professional in higher education, including five years as director of the Excellence in Leadership program and coordinator of the minor in leadership studies.
An active member of the Muncie community, Isaacs has served as president of the boards of directors for the Country Village & Creekwood Neighborhood Association, Muncie Action Plan and Indiana Leadership Association. He has also served on the boards for Motivate Our Minds, Muncie Rotary and Muncie Civic Center Authority. Isaacs is passionate about youth development and has served as a mentor for Project Leadership, a big brother for Big Brothers Big Sisters and a member of the Burris Laboratory School advisory council.
A thoughtful and empathetic leader, Isaacs balances his professional life with co-parenting his two teenage sons, Charley and Wilson. He is passionate about supporting those around him, whether it’s through his family, his team or the broader community.
