This week’s ‘Thumbs Up’ recipients

Lisa Snider and Kevin Guiney

I just wanted to give a huge shoutout to Lisa and Kevin (both Operations and Maintenance) in the Work Request Center! Their help with keys, locks and core changes has been incredibly appreciated. They’ve been responsive and efficient and are always a pleasure to work with. Thanks so much to both of them for their outstanding support! — Michelle Liratni (Off-Campus Housing Operations)

General Labor crew

I want to thank all the members of the General Labor crew! Young Hall has several moves happening this summer, and they stepped up on short notice to move some heavy shelving, helping the process go smoothly. Thank you all so much!! You have no idea the impact that had! — Carmen Buck (Graduate School)

Corey Spear

Corey (Operations and Maintenance) goes above and beyond what is expected of him every day. Our crew reaches out to him to fix things for us, and he takes care of our needs with no questions asked. Thank you, Corey, for all you do to help us out. — Michelle Dempsey (High Voltage crew)

Josie Galloway, Sandy Schaffer and Deb Johnson

We greatly appreciate the efforts of Josie, Sandy and Deb (all Administrative Operations) in supporting the Disability Resource Center’s relocation to the first floor of Young Hall. The DRC’s move was one of many that had to be sequenced in the complex operation of restacking Young Hall and other areas. Despite this complexity, these colleagues took great care to ensure the DRC’s space was organized and equipped to be as welcoming and accessible to students as possible. They were very attentive to the unique needs of the DRC and the individual staff members and the students they serve. As a result, the DRC is in a far better position to do its work effectively. Please visit the new DRC space in YONG 105. — Dan Carpenter (Student Success Programs) and Mandie Greiwe (Disability Resource Center)

Bart Bishop

Thank you to Bart (IT End User Experience) for consistently going above and beyond. His willingness to step in and offer support during technical challenges and his invaluable help throughout our department’s recent relocation have made a real difference. We truly appreciate your dedication, Bart! — Natalia Marulanda Giraldo (Human Resources)

Carmen Buck

A huge thumbs-up to Carmen (Graduate School) for all her assistance and coordination during the Young Hall restack. The Study Abroad office thanks you! — Chelsey Mullins (Study Abroad)

Laura Weisberger

I want to recognize how well Laura (Finance) handles customer questions. She looks out for the interests of the university while being respectful and mindful of the unique situation at hand. Her thoughtful handling of situations helps departments get the best possible outcome. — Lisa Rile (Finance)

Justin Greer, Andy Sydelko and Mark Schneider

Six months ago, Justin (Purdue IT) brought forward a substantial list of hosts requiring network address remediation — a task that, at first glance, seemed nearly insurmountable within the given time frame. As we began planning, it quickly became clear that our team did not have the resources to complete this effort within six months. Through thoughtful collaboration and persistence, we identified a focused approach and secured the additional resources needed to make the most impact. This success would not have been possible without the dedication, adaptability and teamwork demonstrated by Andy, Mark (both Purdue IT) and Justin. Thank you for your hard work and commitment — it truly made a difference. — Joshua Harley (Purdue IT)
