This week’s ‘Thumbs Up’ recipients

Brenda Black Scott
Brenda (Finance) is a remarkable colleague who always takes my calls and works through whatever challenge I’m navigating within our various travel and financial systems. While the occasional answer might be user error, Brenda is exceptionally patient and takes the time via screenshare to walk me through, step by step. I am ever grateful! — Renee Kashawlic (University Residences)
Mark French
A huge thank you to Mark (Engineering Technology) for going above and beyond to support our students! Your quick and compassionate response when notified of a student’s challenges made all the difference. Your proactive outreach and kindness show just how much you care about student success. We appreciate you! — Tessa Winkler (Office of the Dean of Students)
Billy Pitts and Brian Schwartz
Billy and Brian (both Operations and Maintenance) worked at Lawson tirelessly to clear a blocked drain. They worked multiple days and said they wouldn’t leave until this was fixed. Getting to the blockage was difficult and required multiple attempts with snakes with different diameters and using the camera to diagnose possible blockages. They were creative and persistent enough to clear the blockage. They also ran large volumes of water to make sure the line was draining and confirm that the blockage was cleared. I appreciated the persistence and effort to make sure the job was done correctly. Thanks! — Richard Leonard (Computer Science)

Tony Hayden
Tony (Purdue IT) went above and beyond my ticket request to get three computers back up and running. He worked not only on those computers but also assisted in setting up the entire technology room. He took the time to hook up all network cables and docking stations and updated the remaining computers in the space. This work is wholly appreciated to keep our equipment up to date so that our employees can complete their work more efficiently — Sadie Stinnett (Purdue Online)

I was at the Center for Healthy Living on campus and had Renata as my nurse. What a joyful woman she is. She took great care of me and was concerned and kind. — Sigrid Zahner (Patti and Rusty Rueff School of Design, Art, and Performance)
