Karts circle the track during the 68th running of the Purdue Grand Prix.
A Kappa Sigma senior secured a victory in the 68th annual Purdue Grand Prix on Saturday (April 26). Raif Shah (kart No. 96) completed all 160 laps of the race in under one hour and 10 minutes. His victory was the first at the track since bricks from the Indianapolis Motor Speedway were installed at the start/finish line of the racetrack in West Lafayette.
Thirty-three drivers competed in “The Greatest Spectacle in College Racing.” Two other seniors rounded out the winners’ podium: Indy Kassy, driving kart No. 72 for Mosaic Mile, came in second; and Grant Cameron, driving kart No. 61 for Titan Racing with Hilltop, came in third in Saturday’s race.
