This week’s ‘Thumbs Up’ recipients
Kevin Post
Kevin (Operations and Maintenance) was recently working on a boiler when he noticed that a water heater exhaust flue had an incorrect slope. Because the flue slope direction was incorrect, it could lead to a possible buildup of carbon monoxide gas inside the building. Based on his find, Kevin took immediate action to correct the issue. This attention to detail and safety is a great example of the service provided by Administrative Operations personnel. — Robert Pierce (Operations and Maintenance)
Nolan Klutzke
I want to thank Nolan (Purdue IT) for all his help getting an app to finally install and work properly for me. I have had a notebook that has not been working as efficiently as it should, and now everything is running and working the way its should! — Erin Sarafin (Ground Recharge Operations)
Joe Wingate and Scott Stembaugh
All of us in Web Services are grateful for the help that Joe and Scott (both Purdue IT) have been giving us on the WordPress site migration project. Scott has been instrumental in helping us develop processes to accelerate migrations, and Joe went above and beyond by fixing an incompatibility across several dozen WordPress site databases, which involved correcting errors on hundreds of tables. We will now be able to quickly migrate those sites to the new, high-availability environment without delay. — Tim Kite (Purdue IT)
Matthew Vader
I’d like to give a big thumbs-up to Matthew (Student Life Marketing) for his exceptional dedication to preparing our annual Perspectives publication. Despite juggling multiple writing responsibilities, he has remained flexible and has been buckling up to get the work done. His hard work has been a pivotal part of our team’s success during a busy season, and his continual jokes help make Purdue an engaging place to work. — Megan McCardle (Student Life Marketing)
Andi Hedrick
Shoutout to Andi (Student Life Marketing) for her steady help and upbeat spirit, especially during hectic times, keeping morale high! She’s always stepping in whenever needed, creating a welcoming environment and helping me navigate my first busy season at Purdue. — Megan McCardle (Student Life Marketing)

I do not have enough words to express how helpful Charlotte (College of Agriculture) has been in assisting me and being a patient resource while helping me learn the ropes of being a scholarship coordinator. I am so thankful to have her as a go-to colleague when random questions arise. Thank you, Charlotte! You are appreciated! — Brandy Pinkard (Horticulture and Landscape Architecture)
