Human Resources — Benefits announces a new look and feel to the benefits website, offering a direct link between Purdue’s benefits offerings and the Healthy Boiler Wellness Program.

Introduced in 2018, the Healthy Boiler Wellness Program is a multifaceted approach to overall health and wellness. The five pillars of the program — behavioral health, financial wellness, physical health, social wellness and work-life integration — provide the foundation to all employee benefits offerings.

“The website redesign project has been a main goal for the last couple of years, and we are excited to be able to share it with you now,” said Candace Shaffer, associate vice president  of benefits and payroll in Human Resources. “Since 2018 when the Healthy Boiler Program was created, we have been strategic in connecting the five pillars of the program to everything we do in benefits. The launch of the new website is the final piece that brings it all together and shows the direct correlation between our benefits and the pillar or pillars that they all support. We hope as the Purdue community utilizes the new website it will help reinforce the connection between the Healthy Boiler Program’s focus on overall health and wellness and the benefit offerings they have available to them.”

Homepage

Employees will now see a new homepage focused on those five Healthy Boiler pillars as well as pages for other important benefit areas such as benefits enrollment and the Center for Healthy Living, both of which also have a new design.

The left-side navigation on the homepage shares information about the Healthy Boiler Wellness Program as well as feature links to benefits information for Purdue Global employees, graduate staff, and official retirees and former employees.

The top-level navigation remains the same and offers links to other Human Resources-specific information, including Careers @ Purdue, Hiring @ Purdue, Working @ Purdue and more. Clicking “Human Resources” at the top of the page will direct users to the Human Resources homepage.

Employee benefits by pillar

To help reinforce the importance of the Healthy Boiler pillars, benefit offerings are organized by pillar. A breakdown of the pillars and associated benefits is provided below:

  • Behavioral HealthThe behavioral health pillar focuses on all things related to mental health and support, such as the resources and support available via the Employee Assistance Program for each campus as well as behavioral health resources from Anthem and more.
  • Financial Wellness
The financial wellness pillar page is home to all things related to retirement as well as education remission, funding accounts (HSAs, HRAs, FSAs), beneficiary information, life and voluntary benefits, and more.
  • Physical Health
The physical health pillar page contains the most information and resources, including details about the Center for Healthy Living. There is also information related to prescription coverage; medical, dental and vision insurance; specialized care options, including imaging and physical therapy; and more.
  • Social Wellness
The social wellness pillar supports programs and resources such as the on-site wellness centers on the West Lafayette campus, campus and community events, and more.
  • Work-Life IntegrationThe work-life integration pillar’s page is home to information regarding leaves, time off and disability as well as all family-friendly benefits offered by Purdue, including child care resources for both on-site (West Lafayette) and off-site centers, remote work, parent and child benefits, summer camps, and more.

Several benefits are accessible via multiple pillars. Additionally, individuals can navigate to other pillars and Healthy Boiler Wellness resources from each pillar’s webpage.

More information

“It’s important for our employees to know that the information they are used to accessing via the former benefits website remains on the new website,” Shaffer added. “Anytime a website of this caliber undergoes a revamp or redesign, it takes a little bit of time for individuals to familiarize themselves with the new navigation. But once they do, we hope it will come as second nature for them to associate a benefit with one or more Healthy Boiler pillars, which has been our goal from the inception of the Healthy Boiler Wellness Program.”

As with any undertaking of this size, constant review of the website will occur, and edits will be made as needed.
