SCALE convenes microelectronics workforce development leaders from across the nation at Purdue
Ninety-two participants representing organizations from across the nation on May 30 participated in the 2024 SCALE Microelectronics Workforce Development PI Symposium at Purdue. The symposium focused on coordinating local microelectronics workforce development efforts in support of the defense sector. The SCALE consortium, which is led by Purdue, funded by the U.S. Department of Defense and managed by the Naval Surface Warfare Center (Crane Division), leads a national effort of 30 universities, 18 federal employers, 40 industry employers and two non-profit organizations to train the defense workforce in topics related to microelectronics. SCALE, or Scalable Asymmetric Lifecycle Engagement, facilitates a holistic approach to training highly skilled U.S. microelectronics engineers, hardware designers and manufacturing experts to ensure U.S. leadership in this important area.
