Three-part Healthy Boiler workshop to focus on nutrition basics; register by March 1

Students on the Purdue University campus.

An upcoming Healthy Boiler workshop series titled “Nutrition Basics” will take place on Tuesdays from 3-4 p.m. on March 5-19 as part of National Nutrition Month.

Megan Shidler and Jessica McKeever, registered dietitians at the Center for Healthy Living, will present the three-part workshop series. The sessions will take a deep dive into answering the following questions:

  • Where do calories come from?
  • What can a nutrition label tell me?
  • Is there a diet right for me?

“The world of nutrition is complex and continually evolving,” Shidler said. “’Nutrition Basics’ is designed to help individuals build a foundation of nutrition knowledge and boost their confidence in applying that knowledge to their everyday life.”

Those interested in attending “Nutrition Basics” should register by March 1 via the Healthy Boiler Portal. A registration link can be found under the “Healthy Boiler Workshops” section on the portal’s home page. Hover over the “Nutrition Basics” workshop square and hit “Submit” to register.

Healthy Boiler workshops are free to all benefits-eligible faculty and staff and their dependents.
